About my labor

Jack was born 10/29/03.  We went to the hospital at 5:30am on the 29th.  I was to be induced.  When we got there Shane and I were taken to the labor room and I was given the usual prelabor treatment.  I got an enema and a big I.V.  I was given pitocin to go into labor.  I labored for about 7 hours before I asked for an epidural.  Things were great after that, no pain.  I was told the baby was not dropping and I would need a c-section.  Soon after that I was taken to the O.R. and Jack was born.  It was the most exciting thing I have ever been through.  We stayed in the hospital for three days and came home on Halloween.

About Jack

When we got home Jack began to get yellow very quickly.  He also seemed to tired and didn't want to eat.  Well I just knew something was very wrong so I took him right to the doctor.  I was told his biliruben levels were dangerously high.  He had a severe case of jaundice.  We took him home and waited for home health care to come out and set up home phototherapy.  Jack had to be strapped down to these special lights to help his liver to work right.  He was on the lights for 6 days.  Each day the nurse would come out to weigh him and draw his blood.  It was very trying and scary but he pulled through like a trooper.  He is totally healthy now and the last time he was weighed and mesured he was 15lbs 15ozs and 25in.  God truly blessed us and Jack.

Our life!

As for how things are now, well I just have to say I am married to the best man in the world.  He works very hard so I can stay at home with Jack.  Shane is truly a wonderful person.  We have great fun together and are loving raising our son.
